CORK’s Mission
The Central Oregon Running Klub’s mission is to promote health and fitness through running and to provide an inclusive culture that strengthens the local running community through the support of key community running events, integration with community businesses, and providing running centric activities for youth through masters runners. Since 1976, CORK has been involved in race promotion, trail maintenance, weekly running groups, and coaching our youth to become State Champions and lifelong runners.
CORK is a running club that is welcoming and inclusive of all runners regardless of your age, ability, race, or gender. We are here to run, support each other, and offer activities that are fun for anyone who loves to run. If you have ideas that would make CORK a better club for you, please consider attending one of our board meetings (open to all) or even join the board. We are always looking for new ideas to better serve the running community.

Interested in volunteering with CORK?
We’re always looking for runners that love connecting with the larger running community to help make it better. If you’re interested in volunteering with CORK as a youth coach, board member or run leader, fill out the application below so that we know you’re interested and can connect with you.
There are a few commitments that come with being a board member but it’s a rewarding position and allows you to plan events, meet new runners, and be an integral part of the local running community.
CORK Community Expectations
CORK has always been built on respect, kindness, and a shared love of running. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where runners of all backgrounds and abilities feel comfortable joining our events.
To support that goal, we ask members to follow the simple guidelines below. If something ever doesn’t feel right at a CORK activity, or in interactions between members connected to the club—even outside of events—we provide a way for members to share concerns with the board.
CORK Code of Conduct
The Central Oregon Running Klub (CORK) Code of Conduct exists to support a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for everyone participating in CORK activities.
This code is not intended to regulate every interaction between members. Instead, it outlines the basic expectations that allow runners, walkers, volunteers, and community members to enjoy CORK events and programs in a positive and inclusive environment.
As a CORK member or participant, you agree to:
Treat fellow club members, participants, volunteers, and community members with respect.
Show appreciation for volunteers who contribute their time to support CORK activities and events.
Refrain from verbal or physical harassment, intimidation, or threatening behavior at CORK events or activities.
Refrain from online harassment, intimidation, or threatening behavior directed toward CORK members or participants.
Refrain from making racial, ethnic, religious, age-based, sexual orientation, or gender-related slurs or derogatory comments.
Refrain from unwanted physical contact or behavior that could reasonably be interpreted as harassment.
Avoid conduct that could be considered sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other unwelcome verbal or physical behavior of a sexual nature.
Avoid behavior that disrupts or interferes with CORK runs, events, or community activities.
Report a Concern
CORK is committed to maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone who participates in our runs and events. CORK encourages members and participants to report concerns if they experience or witness behavior that does not align with this Code of Conduct. If you experience or observe something during a CORK activity, or in interactions between members connected to the club, that concerns you, we encourage you to let us know. Even if something feels minor, sharing it may help the board identify patterns and address issues early.
Reports may be submitted through the Report a Concern form on the CORK website. This form gives members a simple way to share feedback so the CORK board can address concerns and help keep our community safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.
Most situations can be resolved through conversation, and we appreciate members bringing things to our attention. Submissions will be reviewed by a member of the CORK board and handled thoughtfully and with discretion.
Thank you for helping us maintain a positive running community.
Review Process
Reports will be reviewed by the CORK President or a designated board member, who will gather information and share findings with the CORK Board of Directors.
If a Code of Conduct violation is confirmed, the Board may determine appropriate next steps depending on the circumstances. Actions may include:
Verbal reminder of expectations
Written warning
Referral to appropriate authorities when necessary
Suspension or removal from CORK events or membership
When appropriate, the individual involved will be given an opportunity to respond before final decisions are made.
CORK is committed to maintaining a community where runners of all backgrounds and abilities feel welcome, respected, and supported.
